A private photography session, not a sightseeing checklist

Bali photography tour planned around the light, not a fixed itinerary

This is a professional photoshoot that moves across several locations in one booking, not a sightseeing tour that includes photography. I've shot professionally in Bali since 2015, which means over a decade of mornings spent learning exactly when the mist sits low over Jatiluwih and which hour turns Uluwatu's cliffs from flat to dramatic. Every route I plan starts from that.

There's no rush built into the day. If you want time to stand in a place and take it in between frames, we go at that pace.

How a Bali photography tour with me works

Instead of one beach or one temple, I photograph you across several locations in a day, chasing the light as it changes rather than working around it. A route usually covers two to six spots within one region, since real distance between regions eats into shooting time.

01

I shoot the whole day personally on a Fujifilm X-H2 with fast prime lenses.

02

A drone comes along for aerial photos where permitted and conditions allow.

03

On longer sessions, Raditya joins as a second photographer for extra coverage, but I'm there shooting from start to finish either way.

The Shortlist

How a route comes together

These give a sense of how a route comes together. Your actual route depends on season, light, and what you want to walk away with:

01

Uluwatu, golden coast

Clifftop viewpoints, a quieter stretch of coastline, temple surroundings. Works best at sunrise or late afternoon.

02

Ubud, temples and jungle

A temple courtyard, a jungle path, rice paddy views on the way out. Works best early morning, before the heat and the crowds.

03

Jatiluwih, green Bali

Rice terraces, village roads, valley viewpoints. Works best at sunrise, when the mist is still sitting low.

04

Nusa Penida, dramatic coast

Cliffs, a beach viewpoint, aerial photos where conditions allow. Route and timing depend on the ferry schedule.

Local Knowledge

Most operators sell access to famous viewpoints

Take Tegallalang: nearly every visitor photographs it from the main road viewpoint, palm tree in the foreground, dozens of other tourists in frame after 7am. I use quieter access points and sections of the terraces I've learned through years of shooting there, with cleaner sightlines and a better angle on the morning mist. Ten years of returning to the same terraces teaches you things a guidebook doesn't.

The Traveler Profile

Who books this

Solo travelers, couples, families, and small groups of friends who want their Bali trip documented across several locations rather than one static backdrop. Some are after a straightforward Bali tour with photographer built around specific spots, others just want a Bali Instagram tour with photographer that leaves them with a set of polished, shareable images from the day. Couples often pair this with a Bali couple photoshoot, and families sometimes book it alongside a family photography session.

What clients say

"We landed a day late because our connecting flight got cancelled in Singapore, so I messaged Andi in a panic thinking we'd lose the booking. He just moved us two days later, no fee, no fuss. The Uluwatu light that morning was worth the stress. My sandals were not made for that cliff path though."

Solene Marchetti, France

"My husband complained the whole drive to Jatiluwih about the early alarm and then wouldn't stop talking about the rice terraces for the rest of the trip. Andi barely directed us, mostly just told us where to stand and let us talk to each other. Photos came back in three days like he said. Wish the tour had run an hour longer honestly."

Kasia Wróblewska, Poland

"Booked this solo on my last day after a friend cancelled on me last minute. Felt weird at first showing up alone but Andi made it a non issue. We did Nusa Dua and one temple stop, and my mum actually cried when I sent her the gallery. Traffic back to Seminyak ate into our last twenty minutes, which was the one letdown."

Practical details

Regions and routing

Locations are grouped within one region to keep shooting time high. Combinations that are genuinely far apart, such as Uluwatu and Ubud in the same booking, need custom timing worked out in advance rather than assumed into a standard package.

What to wear and bring

Outfits aren't provided, so plan two to four looks depending on session length, plus comfortable shoes since rice terrace paths get muddy at dawn and coastal rock at Uluwatu is uneven. If a temple is on the route, shoulders need covering, and I can arrange a sarong on request.

Seasons and light

Bali's dry season, roughly April through October, gives the most reliable sunrise and sunset light. The wet season brings dramatic cloud formations and greener terraces instead, and I adjust timing or locations within the same day when rain becomes an issue.

Delivery timing

Galleries arrive within 3 business days as standard, with 24-hour express editing available as a paid add-on.

Good to Know

Frequently asked questions

How do we get between locations?

Included on the 4-hour Istimewa package, where I travel with you between stops. On the shorter packages, you arrange your own transport between the locations we agree on, and I'll meet you at each one.

Do I need to bring any equipment?

No. I bring the camera, lenses, and drone, and handle all the shooting. Just show up.

Can other travelers join my session, or is it just my group?

Your booking is private, so nobody outside your group gets added to it. Friends and family with you can join in the frame or just come along for the day.

Can I choose the locations, or do you pick the route?

Either. Tell me spots you have in mind and I'll build the timing around them, or leave it to me and I'll pick a route based on your group, the season, and the light that day.

What time does the session start?

Depends on the locations and length you book. Some routes work best at sunrise, others suit midday or afternoon better. I'll confirm the exact time once we've worked out your route.

Is 24-hour editing included, and do I get some photos before the rest?

It's a paid add-on, not included by default. Photos are always delivered together as one complete gallery, never split into batches.

Can I add extra time or locations on the day, if the shoot is going well?

Sometimes, if the schedule allows it. Book the longer package upfront if there's a real chance you'll want more time, since extending on the spot depends on what else is planned that day.

Who decides when you arrive at each location. Ten years of mornings on this island go into that decision every time. Send me your dates, group size, and the part of Bali you're staying in. I'll suggest the route and starting time that gives us the best light.
