Hair, makeup and gowns

These are priced separately, so you pay only for the ones you want. Cherish and her team have styled over 200 brides, and travel across Bali's main areas is already inside these rates.

Read the timing on the first row before you build your run sheet. The Signature takes about three hours, not the one hour most couples budget for it, and starting hair and makeup too late is the single most common way a wedding morning falls behind. Full details are on the hair and makeup page.

Put together, a standard day looks like this: IDR 16,000,000 for eight hours of photo and film with a crew of two, IDR 6,500,000 for the bride, IDR 1,500,000 for the groom, and IDR 3,500,000 for a gown and suit. IDR 27,500,000, ~USD 1,745, from one supplier with one timeline.

Coverage That Fits

Which couples book which coverage?

Three kinds of couples, and the coverage that fits each.

Villa & Resort

Villa and resort weddings with 20 to 120 guests, flown in from Australia, Singapore, Europe, or the Gulf. Eight hours covers preparations through to first dance. Past 80 guests, or with both of you getting ready in separate villas, two shooters stop being optional.

Elopement

Elopements and ceremonies with a handful of people present. Four hours, a short film, no reception, often no planner. The common mistake is booking three hours and starting at the ceremony, which cuts the morning out of the story entirely.

Already Married

Couples already married legally at home, celebrating here. No ceremony or a symbolic one, speeches at sunset, a party that runs late. The timeline is looser and the photography works better for it.

The Run Sheet

How does a wedding day actually run?

Most quotes tell you how many hours you get. Almost none tell you what happens inside them. Here is the shape of a full day, and where it usually slips.

01

The evening before

If the schedule allows, I drive to your venue and stand where you will stand. Light moves through a cliff garden differently in October than in April, and I would rather learn that a day early.

02

Morning preparations

I arrive before you do. Those few minutes let me read the room, find the window worth using, and clear the ironing board out of frame. If you book our hair and makeup team, they are already working when I walk in, which keeps the morning calm.

03

First look

Not compulsory, but it settles nerves and buys back twenty minutes later in the day. Couples who skip it almost always run short on portraits after the ceremony.

04

Ceremony

I work from the edges with fast prime lenses, no flash bouncing off your guests, no photographer walking up the aisle behind you.

05

Couple session

Forty minutes before sunset, protected in the run sheet. This is where the frames you will print come from.

06

Reception

Speeches, first dance, the part of the night where nobody is thinking about a camera anymore. That is usually when the honest ones land.

Every wedding runs late somewhere. I build the timeline assuming it will, so a delayed lunch does not cost you the golden hour.

Delivery

What do you receive, and how fast?

10 days

A fully edited, high resolution online gallery within 10 days

300+

300+ images and a 4 to 6 minute highlight film from an 8 hour day

JPG

Colour, exposure, contrast and crop on every frame, JPG rather than RAW

2 years

Your gallery hosted online for 2 years, so a lost laptop is not a lost wedding

2 days

Express delivery as a paid add-on when you fly out before day ten

Included

Travel across Bali included in the price, not added afterwards

Two things sit outside that list, and couples usually ask about them the week after the wedding rather than before. RAW files are not part of any package. Skin retouching is a separate job, so ask for it before I start editing.

Film runs alongside the photography from the same plan, so you book one photographer and videographer team instead of coordinating two suppliers who have never met.

Read Before You Sign

What costs does a wedding quote usually leave out?

01

Some venues charge an outside vendor fee for bringing your own supplier. At a handful of resorts that fee approaches the cost of the photography itself. Ask before you sign, and ask in writing.

02

Traffic is not a detail. Uluwatu to Ubud is two to three hours in the late afternoon, not the forty minutes your map application promises. If your ceremony and your portrait location sit on opposite ends of the island, that decision costs you daylight, and daylight is the only thing here I cannot buy more of.

03

Rain is normal from November to March and a shower rarely lasts an hour. I watch the forecast for the week before your date, hold covered alternatives for each part of the day, and talk the backup through with you before the morning arrives rather than during it.

04

Temples and some waterfalls charge entry per person and require a sarong. Rice terraces look their best before the harvest and like a construction site for several weeks after it. Drone footage needs the venue's permission and is not legal near the airport corridor or above several temples, so confirm it early if aerials matter to you.

Location Planning

Planning your bali wedding photoshoot around the light

Sunrise at Sidemen and sunset on the Bukit are two different jobs. A shoot built around the light gets you soft, directional frames. One built around convenience gets you squinting at noon.

Being eight degrees south of the equator, Bali gives you the same short day all year. Sunset moves only between roughly 5.50pm in June and 6.35pm in February, and dusk is gone about twenty five minutes later. There is no long northern European evening here, which is the single most common planning error I correct.

5.50pm - 6.35pm

roughly, June to February. Dusk is gone about twenty five minutes later

Venues behave differently and the differences are worth knowing before you sign. Midday light on the east coast around Candidasa is hard and contrasty next to the water, so a garden with real canopy saves the portraits. A chapel opening straight onto sand, the way the Conrad's does, gives you a walk from ceremony to sunset session with no drive in between. Villa Vedas sits fifteen minutes from central Canggu and holds a late curfew, which is why couples who want the party to run past midnight keep landing there. Clifftop estates on the Bukit put your guests in full sun at four in the afternoon.

I keep coming back to the rice terraces of Tabanan and Jatiluwih, the cliff edges of Uluwatu and Nusa Penida, the temples around Ubud, the bamboo bridges of Sidemen, and the black sand at Nusa Dua. When a wedding calls for it I travel to the Gili Islands and Lombok.

Keep locations inside one region and travel stays short while shooting stays long. If you want spots that sit far apart, say so at booking and I will build a route with the drive times written into it.

On The Day

Who is the wedding photographer you actually get on the day?

You book me, and I shoot. Raditya joined Wildaya in 2023 from visual arts and creative media, and he works as second shooter and cinematographer. On the largest package we field a crew of five, which is what it takes to cover two getting ready rooms at once. Around us sits a small circle I trust on set: Cherish on hair and makeup, Natasya on styling, and gowns from Michelle Ann Bridal.

I shoot a Fujifilm X-H2 with fast primes and keep the kit small on purpose, because I move faster than I set up. I have judged photography competitions and taught workshops for photographers who want to shoot weddings this way, the work has won awards, and Rock My Wedding is one of the names I have worked with.

Eight hundred shoots taught me things a portfolio hides. Almost nobody picks the posed portraits first when they choose what to print. A striking location counts for less than relaxed people standing in it. The frame worth keeping usually arrives about five seconds after everyone assumes the moment is finished, which is why I read a scene before I raise the camera instead of after.

I also do not chase trends, because a trend dates a photograph faster than skin does. I follow the day as it happens rather than bending it into a shot list, so the pictures still look like you in ten years and not like the year you married.

The Circle

  • Andi RegenLead photographer, since 2015
  • RadityaSecond shooter and cinematographer, since 2023
  • CherishHair and makeup
  • NatasyaStyling
  • Michelle Ann BridalGowns

One wedding still sits with me: a groom carried his own tripod up a ridge in Sidemen before sunrise, refusing every offer of help, because he had promised his bride one frame and wanted to build it himself. I stayed out of it and photographed him doing it. That image is the one hanging in their home.

A Common Worry

What if you think you are not photogenic?

Nearly every couple tells me this in the first message, usually about the groom. I do not try to argue anyone out of it, because being told you look fine has never once relaxed a person holding a camera-shaped worry.

What works is giving you something to pay attention to that is not me. Walking somewhere with a reason to get there, a conversation, a task with your hands. Genuine interaction photographs better than confidence does, and it is the whole reason I shoot from the edges rather than directing from the front.

If I can, I go back to the location the evening before and stand where you will stand. I arrive before you do on the day itself. Both habits exist so that by the time you are nervous, I have already made every decision that would otherwise need making while you wait.

Getting Ready

How should you prepare? Five practical steps

01

Send me the run sheet as soon as you have one, even a rough version. I will tell you where the timing breaks before your planner locks it.

02

Book the wedding date twelve months out for the dry season, April through October. July and August fill first, and Saturdays go before weekdays.

03

Get the rings, invitations, and shoes to me in the morning, in one bag. Ten minutes of detail work then is ten minutes you do not lose later.

04

Name the three people who must appear in the family photographs. Group shots collapse when nobody knows who is missing.

05

Ask your venue three things in writing: the outside vendor fee, the guest curfew, and the drone policy.

Afterwards

What couples say afterwards

"Our ceremony ran forty minutes behind and I quietly panicked about the sunset going. Andi had already shifted the couple session in his head and told me before I had to ask. We still got the cliff light. He also warned us about the villa's outside vendor fee months earlier, which saved us a fight with the venue."

Marijke Oostrum, Amsterdam, Netherlands

"We booked four hours for an elopement and he told us to start two hours earlier than we planned so the morning was in it. He was right. The pictures of my sister pinning my dress in the room are the ones I look at, not the vows."

Sethunya Modise, Cape Town, South Africa

"My husband hates cameras and I booked this expecting to manage him all day. Andi shot from the edges and Raditya handled the film, and by the ceremony neither of us was thinking about either of them. Gallery arrived on day eight. The speeches footage made my mother cry twice."

The Fine Print

What happens to the deposit if the date moves?

A 30% deposit secures your date and counts towards the total. The balance falls due 7 days before the wedding, so no invoice is waiting for you on your honeymoon.

Cancel over 30 days out and the deposit comes back in full. Inside 30 days it is non-refundable, because by then I have turned other couples away for your date. If you move the wedding I transfer the deposit to the new date in full, provided I am free. If I cannot cover it, the cancellation terms above apply. Rescheduled dates need to fall within 12 months of the original. Those are the complete terms, and there is no second document with different numbers in it.

Ready To Talk

Ready to talk

You have the rates, the coverage hours, the image counts, the deposit terms, and the fees other people leave until the invoice arrives. Nothing above is a starting point that quietly grows.

Booking a wedding photographer is easier once the numbers are in front of you. Pick the coverage that matches your timeline, then send me your date and venue. I reply within a few hours.
