A Bali Lifestyle Photoshoot That Looks Like Your Trip, Not Someone Else's Pinterest Board
- 800+ sessions shot since 2015
- 5-day galleries, with 48-hour express editing available
- Up to 50 photo spots per session
- Up to 800 edited images on the longest package
I'm Andi. Since 2015 on this island I've learned which lanes in Sidemen are still empty around sunrise and which rice terrace is three coaches deep by nine, so your session buys shooting time instead of waiting time.

What Actually Happens During the Session
A lifestyle session here sits between portraiture and documentary work: lightly directed when you need it, candid when you don't. You get the version of your trip you'd actually show people, rather than something stiff, queued behind twelve other tourists at the same railing, and delivered six weeks after you've flown home and stopped caring.
You walk, talk, drink your coffee, adjust your partner's collar, laugh at something off camera. I direct light and position, then step back and let the rest happen. Very little look here and smile.
The shape of a session is consistent:
- Pre-shoot message. You tell me the occasion, who's coming, and what you want the photos for. I build a location route around that and around traffic, not around a stock list.
- Meet on location. The first few minutes are warm-up frames. Almost nobody uses them. They exist so you stop noticing the camera.
- Two to four locations, depending on package. We move on foot inside each one, so a single village lane can produce four distinct backdrops.
- Outfit changes between locations if your package includes them. Most people bring 3 to 6 looks.
- Gallery via Google Drive. Within 5 days as standard. Every usable frame goes in. I don't hold images back to sell them to you later.
Reasons People Give Me for Booking
Solo travelers are one of my most frequent bookings, which surprises people. Also: couples who want something less formal than a pre-wedding, families staying at a villa for a week, digital nomads refreshing a personal brand, and people quietly marking a birthday or a divorce or a job they just quit.
If you're traveling as two, the Bali couple photoshoot page covers that format in detail. Traveling with kids, see the Bali family photographer page.
Locations, and the Part Nobody Puts on Their Website
Google Maps is optimistic about Bali. Canggu to Ubud can turn a short-looking drive into 90 minutes in real traffic, and combining Uluwatu with Ubud can eat hours of a session. That's why locations get grouped by region unless you tell me in advance you want spots far apart, in which case I build a timeline that survives contact with reality.
Practical things worth knowing before you pick:
- Entry fees are real. Kanto Lampo, Blangsinga, Tegenungan and most rice terraces charge per person, and several charge extra for a professional camera. Budget roughly IDR 20k to 100k per site. Not included in the package.
- Waterfalls mean stairs. Sekumpul is a genuine hike. Kanto Lampo is a short scramble on wet rock. Wear something you can move in and bring the outfit in a bag.
- Resort shoots need permission. If you're staying there, a personal session is usually fine. If you're not, the property has to clear it in advance, and some charge a fee. Ask before you book the slot.
- Nusa Penida is a day, not a stop. Boat times dictate everything. It works, but it can't share a session with anything on the mainland.
- Popular spots have queues. The gate at Ceking or Alas Harum mid-morning means waiting behind other people for the same frame. Just after opening, it's ours.
Timing, Light, and the Rainy Season Question
Morning runs 6:15 to 9:00. Afternoon runs 16:00 to sunset. Between those, the light goes hard overhead and everyone squints, so I don't book it unless we're shooting under jungle canopy or inside a villa.
November through March is the wet season, and it does not rain all day. Rain often comes in short, heavy bursts, particularly in the afternoon, rather than lasting all day. We can wait until it passes, swap to a covered location, or reschedule to another time or day. If you'd rather not reschedule, your deposit is refunded in full. Since 2015, I've lost a full session to weather twice.
What Clients Said Afterward
The three quotes below are from delivered bookings.
"Booked the two hour package for my 40th, on my own. Andi picked a lane in Sidemen I would never have found by myself. I underestimated the drive and arrived late and sweaty, which was entirely my fault. Photos landed before my flight home and my sister has now sent four of them back to me."
- Marise Okonjo, Rotterdam
"my partner complained the whole way there. by the second location he was suggesting shots. rain came in around four and we moved somewhere covered without much fuss. i assumed 200 photos was a marketing figure and it wasn't."
- Tobias Feldkamp, Adelaide
"Our flight from Osaka was delayed nine hours and I messaged at 1am asking to move everything. It was sorted by morning. The session itself went well, though an hour was not really enough once we got going, and I'd book longer next time."
- Ngozi Achterberg, Osaka
Questions I Get Before Booking
Can I use the images commercially? Yes, for your own brand, site and socials. If a third-party brand or agency will run them as paid advertising, tell me first so we agree licensing before the shoot.
Is transport included? Only on Istimewa. On the shorter packages you either drive yourself or arrange a car, and I meet you at the first location.
Can hair and makeup be arranged? Yes, from US$100 / IDR 1.8M per person. I work regularly with Cherish (makeup) and Natasya (styling), added to your booking. Allow 90 minutes before a sunrise call, which means a 4:30am start.
Do you shoot in the rain deliberately? Sometimes it's the better option. Wet stone, empty paths, saturated green. If you're willing, say so and I'll stop treating it as a problem.
Can two families or a group share one booking? Up to about 10 people works within a standard package. Beyond that, the session needs extra time, because group logistics eat the clock, not the shooting.
What if I hate being photographed? Say it in the first message. It changes the route I pick, how much I direct, and how far I stand.
